CA Technologies Q1 FY 2014 revenues dip 1 percent to $1.12 billion

CA Technologies Q1 FY 2014 revenue decreased 1 percent to $1.12 billion.

Out of the total revenue, subscription and maintenance revenue was $944 million, professional services revenue $98 million and software fees and other $86 million.

Its net income increased 40 percent to $335 million.

During the quarter CA Technologies saw a significant increase in its mainframe renewals, and demand for its mobile device management, Software-as-a-Service and Nimsoft monitoring solutions.

CA Technologies executed 9 license agreements with incremental contract values in excess of $10 million each, for an aggregate contract value of $323 million.

During the first quarter of fiscal year 2013, CA Technologies executed 4 license agreements with incremental contract values in excess of $10 million each, for an aggregate contract value of $61 million.

“We did better than expected on the revenue line and were able to capitalize on organizational efficiencies, expense management and a tax benefit to drive earnings growth. Our cash flow from operations was down, but that was expected and we are confident in meeting our full year outlook in all areas,” said CA Technologies CEO Mike Gregoire.

“We are beginning to make progress in driving efficiencies across our business, getting traction in SaaS, Mobility and new customer acquisition, as well as improving the overall competitiveness of our products,” Gregoire said.

CA Technologies says total revenue for FY 2014 is likely to decrease in a range of minus 4 percent to minus 2 percent in constant currency.
