CA announces special backup or disaster recovery software package for Indian enterprises

Infotech Lead Asia: CA Technologies said enterprises who replace a competitor’s backup or disaster recovery software with CA ARCserve can buy an unlimited-use Managed Capacity license for the next three years – at a set price regardless of any organic growth in their storage needs.

The scheme, aimed at increasing the market share, is available until March 31, 2013.

At the end of the third year, customers can renew for the amount of data being protected at that time.  In addition, CA Technologies is offering its partners a 25 percent discount on the current standard MRP.

CA Technologies India targets telecom players, data centers, IT BPOs and SMBs to benefit from this innovative scheme.

“Indian enterprises are being overwhelmed by the rising cost and complexity of safeguarding the growing volumes of data associated with their business-critical applications and services—especially as their IT environment becomes increasingly virtualized,” said Vijayant Rai, director, India & SAARC, Nimsoft & Data Management, CA Technologies India.

Ongoing virtualization drives and need for offering services 24×7 increase the demand for back up and storage.

CA Technologies India currently has 1400 customers for data back up. “We target new customers to deploy CA ARCserve using the special schemes,” Rai added.

CA ARCserve Managed Capacity licensing enables enterprises organizations to more flexibly mix and match functionality and cost-effectively address their data protection requirements, offering simple license, priced per terabyte of protected data.

“CA’s ARCserve Managed Capacity licensing is an obvious business choice for our customers because they can easily take advantage of any future licensing implementation across their organizations,” said Vikas Save, director of VDA Infosolutions.

Enterprises are looking for CA’s ARCserve Managed Capacity licensing as it reduces license management issues while simplifying the annual budget planning process.

Customers who replace a competitor’s backup or disaster recovery software with CA ARCserve may also be eligible to receive an additional credit towards any maintenance agreements on their existing data protection solution.

Recently, CA Technologies announced key product and pricing enhancements to CA ARCserve that address the growing demand of customers and service providers for simple, comprehensive data protection. The enhancements include simplified solution licensing and pricing that offers greater economy and flexibility to achieve recovery time and recovery point objectives.

Vijayant Rai heads CA’s Nimsoft & Data Management business for the India & SAARC region. He is responsible for running CA’s Nimsoft  IT Management as a Service (ITMaaS) and Data Management (DM) business Unit across the territory.
