Bombay Dyeing deploys Microsoft Dynamics AX to enhance customer experience

Infotech Lead India:  India’s most trusted bed and bath linen brand Bombay Dyeing has deployed Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012  under the nomenclature ‘Project Disha’ to enhance its operations, improve management efficiency  in decision making, gain business insights, ensure better inventory and stocks management and provide customers a consistent experience across all its stores.Microsoft Dynamics AX is a comprehensive enterprise resource planning (ERP) solution that provides a purpose-built foundation across five industries, along with comprehensive, core ERP functionality for financial, human resources and operations management.

Deployment of Phase I of the project has been rolled out in 9 company outlets with POS. Phase II of the project will be rolled out in Mar-May 2013 across 332 franchise outlets nationwide.

Microsoft Dynamics AX for Retail offers midsize and enterprise specialty retailers point-of-sale, store management, supply chain, merchandising and financials capabilities to deliver business productivity and customer service in a single, integrated solution.

Previously, Bombay Dyeing had to manually manage most of its business processes like reports, purchase orders, tenders and inventory availability. Deployment of Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 solution addresses the issues of unstructured data and lack of meaningful MIS caused due to inadequate accountability, transparency and controls.

Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 has enabled Bombay Dyeing to increase organizational transparency and responsibility, improve productivity of processes and personnel, minimize human errors and improve business operations and controls.

With Microsoft Dynamics AX, Bombay Dyeing has witnessed productivity improvements across various departments within the company. They no longer need to maintain separate sheets for each task. It has also improved overall speed and accuracy of accounts.

Microsoft Dynamics AX for Retail was made generally available in August 2010 and is currently available in more than 50 countries.
