Bharti Retail taps Accenture to deploy SAP for efficient planning

Bharti Retail has selected Accenture to deploy SAP solutions to enable the retailer to efficiently plan, monitor and track the flow of merchandise and information throughout its supply chain.

Bharti Retail currently operates 212 neighbourhood stores and compact hypermarket formats across 11 Indian states.

By rolling out the SAP ERP application and data management software, along with solutions for merchandising, forecasting, promotion management and fulfillment, Bharti Retail will be able to better react to shifting retail trends and better serve its customer base across all touch points.

Under the contract, Accenture will also implement advanced analytics, planning and financial solutions from SAP, designed to improve the speed of reporting across the organization. This will provide Bharti Retail with actionable business insights and lay a foundation for better decisions for operational and business planning.

Avinash Vashistha, chairman and managing director for Accenture India, said, “Using advanced analytics and implementing a central planning platform will provide Bharti Retail the insights, flexibility and transparency it needs in its IT operations and supply chain, thereby helping the company to streamline its operations expenditure and improve its profitability.”
