API taps TCS to unify IT systems across retail and wholesale operations

Australian Pharmaceutical Industries (API) has selected IT services firm Tata Consultancy Services to unify the firm’s IT systems across retail and wholesale operations.
The beauty and health retail firm’s services include wholesale product delivery, retail services, marketing programmes and business advisory services.

TCS, however, did not reveal the size of the IT deal. ( TCS signs Rs 1100 crore IT deal with Department of Posts )

After a series of mergers and acquisitions and fast-paced business growth, API needed to update and replace many of its key IT systems, TCS said in a release.

API selected TCS as its strategic partner and under the terms of the agreement, TCS will deliver API with a SAP ERP platform that integrates with API’s legacy systems providing improvements in mission-critical business operations such as merchandising, sales and customer service, logistics and finance.

API will benefit from enhanced customer service capabilities, improved logistics and finance processes, and better operational efficiencies.

“API is a key win for TCS as we expand our footprint in retail, and further demonstrates our leadership as an SAP partner and solution provider of choice,” said TCS CEO (Australia and New Zealand) Deborah Hadwen.
