Kulmeet Bawa, managing director of Adobe India and South Asia, has resigned to explore opportunities outside.
Kulmeet Bawa had earlier worked with Sun Microsystems and Microsoft prior to joining Adobe in 2012, where he headed sales.
Kulmeet Bawa became the managing director of Adobe India in 2016, when then MD Umang Bedi left to join Facebook.
Adobe in a statement said that it is searching for a new managing director for India and hopes to make an announcement soon. Adobe has two managing directors for the region – while Shanmugh Natarajan leads R&D and products in the country, Kulmeet Bawa led field operations.
India is a significant market for the San Jose headquartered technology company. Outside of North America, India is the company’s second largest base.
Adobe’s Digital Media (the Photoshop and Acrobat family) contributes 68 percent of total revenue and Digital Experiences (marketing cloud etc) accounts for 22 percent of total revenue.
Kulmeet Bawa earlier this year said Adobe sees strong growth in India because the country is led by a large population of millennials, and is turning into a mobile-only geography, where better digital experiences matter.
