Vishak Raman, a Tata Communications executive, will be joining FireEye as senior regional Director for India and SAARC.
At Tata Communications, Vishak Raman was vice president for Global Product Management for Managed Security Services and Content Delivery Networks.
Vishak Raman previously held leadership roles at Fortinet and WatchGuard Technologies. He will be based in Bangalore. FireEye has a significant research and development operation in Bangalore.
“India’s cyber security is approaching a critical juncture, and FireEye is ideally positioned to strengthen our defenses with a combination of technology, expertise and threat intelligence,” said Vishak Raman, senior regional director for India and SAARC at FireEye.
According to FireEye, India is among the world’s most targeted regions for advanced cyber attacks. In the second half of 2016, FireEye observed targeted attacks on 24 percent of its customers in India against global average of 15 percent.
