Trend Micro prices mobile and tablet security pack at Rs 249 in India

Trend Micro India today said the price of Trend Micro mobile security for mobiles and tablets will be Rs 249 per pack. Last month, McAfee announced a free version of its McAfee Mobile Security in 30 languages.
Trend Micro said the latest Personal Edition for Mobile Security works on Android platform for mobiles and tablets. It comes with antivirus, antispyware, web filtering, back up, social networking privacy and anti-theft features.

Earlier, ABI Research said the Mobile Security Management (MSM) market will reach $560 million in 2013.

“With BYOD policies, cloud-based applications are becoming mainstream and sensitive data of employees and companies are at risk. Our comprehensive solutions will keep this information safe without impeding the mobile experience,” said Anand Shringi, national sales manager, SMB & Consumer Products, India & SAARC, Trend Micro.

Trend Micro said its new Android security is driven by Mobile App Reputation Technology which is fast, light and effective. It includes Antivirus and malware scanner, Privacy scanner with 50 MB of free storage.

It identifies bad apps and fake websites that could steal information, and detects risky settings in your Facebook profile. In case a device gets lost or stolen, Mobile Security can also help finding it via the web, as well as protect the information stored on it from prying eyes. Besides if the user has enabled the new backup feature, even if the device is not found, one can at least restore the data in your Android device.

The free version of McAfee’s security app for Android includes enhanced protection features and, for the first time, unlocks security extensions for Intel-based mobile devices, making it the most comprehensive free mobile solution for consumers on the market. McAfee also recently launched McAfee Mobile Security for iOS, which is also available free of charge.
