Symantec revenue dips in fiscal 2016

Symantec has posted revenue of $873 million (–3 percent) in fourth quarter and $3,600 million (–9 percent) in fiscal year 2016.

Symantec generated revenue of $406 million (0 percent) from Consumer Security and $467 million (–5 percent) from Enterprise Security business. Symantec added $506 million (–1 percent) revenue from Americas (U.S., Latin America, Canada), $217 million (–6 percent) from EMEA and $150 million (–4 percent) from Asia Pacific & Japan.

The Internet security firm is expecting drop in revenue to $865 million – $895 million in Q1 fiscal 2017 and $3,490 million – $3,580 million in fiscal 2017.

Michael A Brown, Symantec CEO, said: “To complement the Symantec’s unified security strategy, we’re bringing more than a dozen new products to market in 2016 enabling us to grow our enterprise security business.”

Symantec Advanced Threat Protection, most recent product release, surpassed 1.2 million endpoint subscriptions in its first full quarter of availability.
