Symantec fiscal 2014 revenue dips 3% to $6.68 billion

Symantec today said its fourth quarter revenue in fiscal 2014 decreased 7 percent to $1.63 billion. For the fiscal year, revenue fell 3 percent to $6.68 billion.

Q4 net income increased 14 percent to $217 million. Fiscal 2014 net income rose 19 percent to $898 million.

Michael Brown, Symantec interim president and chief executive officer, said that the security vendor has taken important steps to accelerate the pace of its transformation.

Symantec is expecting revenue of $6.63 to $6.77 billion in fiscal 2015 compared to $6.70 billion in the year-ago period.

For the first quarter in fiscal 2015, the company is expecting revenue of $1.65 to $1.69 billion against $1.71 billion in the year-ago period.
