Study reveals businesses concerned about WAN-Cloud security gap

Cybersecurity issues

Recent XO Communications-commissioned study revealed that 56 percent of businesses are concerned that security gaps at the connection point between Wide Area Network (WAN) and public cloud service providers may compromise their data used in the cloud.

The survey respondents were employees at organizations that plan to connect their WAN to a public cloud services provider.

With regard to visibility and management of the connection between the WAN and the public cloud provider, 38 percent of respondents said they have excellent or very good visibility.

“The economic advantages of leveraging public cloud services are crystal clear,” said Jake Heinz, senior vice president of marketing and product at XO Communications.

“Public cloud services enable businesses to compete in their industry sector with increased agility and scalability to meet specific customer demands.”

Companies employing a network-enabled cloud solution enjoy security inherent in the XO MPLS IP-VPN service, an application-aware, private, WAN solution for IP data transport between business locations.

XO reduces security risks noted in the report through direct connections from our MPLS IP-VPN network to major cloud-based services and applications.
