Stellantis disclosed the cybersecurity incident on Sunday, emphasizing that only basic contact information — such as names, phone numbers, or email addresses — was exposed. Stellantis assured customers that no financial data or sensitive personal information was compromised.

According to the official statement, Stellantis activated its incident response protocols as soon as the breach was detected. The company is directly notifying affected customers and has informed relevant authorities. It has also urged customers to stay vigilant against potential phishing emails or fraudulent calls that may attempt to exploit the leaked contact details.

Stellantis did not reveal any possible impact on its financial performance in the wake of the cyber attack. Stellantis reported net loss of €2.3 billion on revenues of €74.3 billion (down 13 percent) in H1 2025 primarily driven by declines in North America and Enlarged Europe.

The breach comes amid a surge in cyberattacks on global automakers. Earlier this month, British luxury brand Jaguar Land Rover suffered a significant cybersecurity incident that disrupted retail and production operations, forcing factory shutdowns until September 24, Reuters news report said. Such attacks highlight the growing risk as carmakers rely on complex supply chains and third-party service providers.

Customer Precautions

Stellantis recommends that customers:

Monitor email and phone communications for suspicious activity.

Avoid clicking on unknown links or sharing personal details in response to unexpected messages.

Report phishing attempts to their local cybercrime authority.

The automaker continues to work with cybersecurity experts to strengthen its systems and safeguard customer data, reinforcing the importance of robust cybersecurity measures across the automotive sector. Stellantis did not name its technology vendors who are responsible for managing cyber security.
