Spending on information security in India is forecast to increase 17.1 percent to $3.4 billion in 2025 from $2.9 billion in 2024, according to a new forecast from Gartner.

Network security spending in India will be $402 million (up 12.1 percent) in 2024 and $460 million (up 14.2 percent) in 2025.
Security Services spending in India will be $1.358 billion (up 19.9 percent) in 2024 and $1.629 billion (up 19.9 percent) in 2025.
Security Software spending in India will be $1.136 billion (up 15.6 percent) in 2024 and $1.303 billion (up 14.8 percent) in 2025.
Spending on managed security services is projected to grow 34.3 percent.
Spending on security consulting services is expected to grow 10.9 percent.
Spending on security professional services is forecast to grow 17.9 percent.
Managed detection and response (MDR) is forecast to record the highest growth in the segment at 42.3 percent. This growth is largely due to the cybersecurity talent shortage, prompting Indian organizations to outsource expertise and leverage economies of scale for comprehensive coverage and cost-effective risk mitigation.
Spending on security software is projected to reach $1.3 billion in 2025, an increase of 14.8 percent year-on-year. 34 percent growth in spend on public cloud services in India in 2025, along with the adoption of AI and GenAI by both vendors and attackers, will drive investments in security software.
“The CrowdStrike outage highlighted critical internal vulnerabilities, emphasizing the need for many organizations to establish a more resilient and secure IT environment, prioritizing their spending on endpoint and cloud security,” said Shailendra Upadhyay, Sr Principal at Gartner, in its report.
The CrowdStrike outage prompted chief information security officers (CISOs) to review organization’s prevention, response, and support procedures, while also ensuring that key employees with response and recovery responsibilities possess the necessary competencies.
