Cisco has 16.8 percent share in the global security appliance market in Q2 2019 vs 15.8 percent in Q2 2018.
Palo Alto Networks has a share of 16.2 percent vs 14.6 percent share in the security appliance market.
Fortinet has 11.5 percent vs 10.9 percent in security appliance market. Check Point Systems has 10.3 vs 10.9 percent share in the security appliance market. Symantec has 4.1 percent vs 4 percent share in the security appliance market.
Security appliance market revenue increased 10.4 percent to $3.9 billion. Unit shipments rose 14.3 percent to more than 1 million units.
The Unified Threat Management (UTM) market segment accounts for the most significant share of worldwide revenue. This segment accounted for over $161.4 million more in revenue for 2Q19 than in 1Q19.
UTM grew 13.7 percent and accounts for 54.2 percent of the worldwide security appliance market.
Web security and messaging security continue to show strong signs of growth, increasing by 12.9 percent and 14.9 percent, respectively.
Hybrid VPN, SSL VPN, and IPsec VPN segments declined revenue this quarter with Hybrid VPN declining by 6.9 percent, SSL VPN declining by 2.3 percent, and IPsec VPN declining by 17.8 percent.
