The German subsidiary of the Russian energy company Rosneft has reported a hacker attack, news report said, citing the country’s BSI cybersecurity watchdog.
BSI offered support to overcome the cyber security problem, which occurred on Friday night or early Saturday morning, and had issued a cybersecurity warning to other companies in the energy sector.
There had been no effect on Rosneft’s business or the supply situation even though the company’s systems had been affected.
Security sources said the hacker group Anonymous was suspected of being behind the attack.
