Policybazaar.com, a leading insurance technology platform, has revealed it faced a cyber security incident last week.
The leading technology platform, which sells insurance coverage, said that it identified certain vulnerabilities in Policybazaar IT systems on July 19 and the same were subject to illegal and unauthorized access.
Policybazaar.com serves more than 9 million customers. Policybazaar.com in a stock exchange report said it fixed identified vulnerabilities and started a thorough audit of the systems. Policybazaar.com did not reveal the name of the technology vendors which are responsible for cyber security. Saurabh Tiwari is the Chief Technology Officer of Policybazaar.com
“The matter is currently being reviewed by the information security team along with external advisors. While we are in the process of undertaking a detailed review, as on date, our review has found that no significant customer data was exposed,” Policybazaar.com said.
Policybazaar is the flagship subsidiary of PB Fintech which also owns the credit product aggregator Paisabazaar.
