Cybersecurity company Palo Alto Networks announced the resignation of Mark Anderson and the appointment of Google veteran Amit K Singh as president.
The resignation of Mark Anderson, the current president, is the first major development ever since Nikesh Arora joined Palo Alto Networks as CEO.
Amit Singh will report to Nikesh Arora. Amit Singh was the president of Google Cloud and, most recently, Google’s vice president of business and operations in emerging computing platforms, including augmented and virtual reality.
Prior to joining Google, Amit Singh spent 20 years with Oracle in product, engineering, sales and strategy roles. He helped Oracle acquire and successfully integrate PeopleSoft, Agile and Demantra, helping them accelerate their growth rate post acquisition.
Palo Alto Networks expects revenue of $625-$635 million, representing growth of 25-27 percent, for the fiscal first quarter 2019, ending October 31, 2018.
