Veeam, a cloud data company, specializes in software that helps customers recover their data following cybersecurity incidents, ransomware attacks, or accidental data loss. A key feature of Veeam’s offerings is its support for immutable backups, which prevent ransomware from altering or deleting data. This ensures that clean copies of critical files remain intact and available for recovery even if hackers encrypt the primary data.

Anand Eswaran, CEO of Veeam, said: “By joining forces with Microsoft, we’re bringing AI-powered intelligence to 550,000 customers, and the majority of Fortune 500 and Global 2000 companies, enabling them to protect, detect, and recover faster than ever before.”

This investment aligns with Microsoft’s strategy in the cybersecurity and data protection space. In 2021, Microsoft invested in another cybersecurity firm, Rubrik, which also provides backup and recovery solutions.

Jason Graefe, Corporate Vice President, ISV’s & Digital Natives, Microsoft, said: “By integrating Microsoft AI with Veeam’s market-leading data resilience solutions, we’re helping customers not only protect their critical data but also unlock new insights and efficiencies across Microsoft 365 and Azure.”

With the support of Microsoft, Veeam aims to enhance its research and development efforts, focusing on design collaboration and integrating Microsoft’s AI services into its products. These advancements are expected to improve Veeam’s capabilities in data management, security, and recovery.

Veeam, a leading provider of data backup and recovery solutions, serves more than 550,000 customers worldwide. Main customers of Veeam include major corporations such as Deloitte and Canon, reflecting the widespread adoption of its technology across various industries.
