Hyatt Hotels today announced that it recently identified malware on computers that operate the payment processing systems for Hyatt-managed locations.

Hyatt has launched an investigation and engaged third-party cyber security experts. The hotel chain has 627 hotel properties in 52 countries.

The hotel chain will be sharing the latest updates on malware on its website. Hyatt has taken steps to strengthen the enterprise IT security of its systems, and customers can feel confident using payment cards at Hyatt hotels worldwide.

Hyatt recommends that its customers should review their payment card account statements and report any unauthorized charges to their card issuer. Payment card rules generally provide that cardholders are not responsible for unauthorized charges that are timely reported.
