Kaspersky Consumer Security Risks survey 2013

Every sixth user has experienced loss, theft or damage to their laptop, a smartphone or a tablet in the last 12 months, said Kaspersky Consumer Security Risks survey carried out by B2B International and Kaspersky Lab in Summer 2013.

Mobile devices are regularly lost, stolen or damaged: over 16 percent of respondents reported at least one of these troubles over the last 12 months.

9 percent of the users’ devices were irreparably damaged, 3 percent of gadgets were lost and 4 percent were stolen.

According to the survey, 76 percent of smartphone and 65 percent of tablets have personal photos and video; 64 percent of smartphone and 61 percent of tablets have personal email correspondence; 22 percent of smartphones and 23 percent of tablets have passwords to social network accounts and email accounts; 32 percent of smartphones and 28 percent of tablets have work emails and 20 percent of smartphones; 29 percent of tablets have business documents; and 10 percent of both smartphones and tablets have financial information, specifically passwords to online banking accounts.
