HP adds new products to HP TippingPoint NX Series Next Generation Intrusion Prevention System

Infotech Lead America: HP has expanded the HP TippingPoint NX Series Next Generation Intrusion Prevention System (NGIPS) portfolio with new appliances that help detect, identify and mitigate network security threats.

The newHP S7500NX, HP S6200NX and HP S2600NX NGIPS appliances round out the HP NX family to cover data transfer speeds of 20Gbps, 10Gbps and 3Gbps, respectively. The 20Gbps appliance provides one of the industry’s highest throughput levels and reduces an organization’s overall data center footprint and energy consumption costs, HP said.

The new solutions enable network security operations teams to locate threats quickly and accurately. They also provide clients with the flexibility to customize the interfaces and bypass options, ensuring business continuity in the event of a hardware failure.

“The boom in cloud and mobile applications has put the pressure on network security operations to provide the highest-speed networks while maintaining security efficacy,” said Rob Greer, vice president and general manager, Enterprise Security Products, TippingPoint, HP.

“HP TippingPoint continues to deliver innovative network security solutions that address rapidly evolving security threats without adding complexity, cost or resource consumption to the data center,” Greer added.

The HP S7500NX NGIPS, HP S6200NX NGIPS and S2600NX NGIPS appliances will be available worldwide soon.

In October last year, HP launched its TippingPoint NX Platform NGIPS product line.

The price of HP S7100NX that scales up to 13 Gb/s inspection throughput and 100 Gb/s network throughput was $249,995.  HP S5200NX, which scales up to 5 Gb/s inspection throughput and 40 Gb/s network throughput, was priced at $179,995.
