Cisco to acquire Portcullis to boost security biz

Cisco HQ
Enterprise networking vendor Cisco announced its decision to acquire Portcullis Computer Security, a UK-based provider of cyber security services to enterprises.

Portcullis’ security consulting services include assessments to identify vulnerabilities, forensic testing, first responder training to prepare for attacks, policy review and creation, security awareness training, and overall security posture audits.

The acquisition of Portcullis Computer Security is expected to be complete in the second quarter of fiscal year 2016.
Cisco aims to provide guidance to its enterprise and government clients to handle their security challenges through the acquisition of the privately-held Portcullis.

“Through this acquisition, we increase our ability to offer security, risk and compliance services to help clients overcome operational and technical security challenges, anticipate and respond to new threats, and drive new business,” said Rob Salvagno of Cisco.

Cisco acquired Neohapsis earlier this year.

The Portcullis team will join the Cisco Security Solutions team under the leadership of Vice President James Mobley.
