Cisco today announced its plans to acquire ThreatGRID to enhance its security offerings for enterprises.
In 2013, Cisco had acquired Sourcefire.
New York, NY- headquartered ThreatGRID offers dynamic malware analysis and threat intelligence technology, both on-premise and in the cloud to assist organizations and security teams to respond to cyber and malware attacks.
Cisco did not share financial details.
The acquisition of ThreatGRID will strengthen Cisco’s security strategy to deliver intelligent cybersecurity. Mobility, cloud computing, and the Internet of Everything (IoE) are encouraging enterprises to invest in cyber protection solutions.
ThreatGRID’s technology enhances Cisco’s Advanced Malware Protection (AMP) portfolio, originally developed by Sourcefire, acquired in 2013. ThreatGRID’s on-premise products also expand its ability to protect customers with in-house data retention requirements.
The combination of Cisco and ThreatGRID will enhance their capabilities to aggregate and correlate data to identify advanced and evasive cyber threats and provide intelligent cybersecurity solutions for the real world.
