South Korean bank heightens data security with Ciena encryption

South Korean bank KB Kookmin has deployed Ciena’s encryption capabilities to heighten customer data security.

With Ciena, KB Kookmin Bank will be able to safeguard all data in-flight, giving customers the assurance that their critical information is protected at all times.

The encryption solution protects KB Kookmin Bank’s data transmissions from its offices and enables secure data centre interconnect (DCI) between its data centers.

Ciena’s optical encryption solution provides an extra layer of protection and gives our customers the confidence to know their personal information is safe,” says Kim Ki-Hyun, CIO of KB Kookmin Bank

For the fiscal third quarter 2016, Ciena reported revenue of $670.6 million as compared to $602.9 million for the fiscal third quarter 2015.it projects fiscal Q4 revenue to be in the range of $700 to $730 million.
