Check Point to acquire Lacoon Mobile Security

Check Point Software Technologies is set to acquire Lacoon Mobile Security, a provider of mobile security platform.

The acquisition of Lacoon technology will further extend Check Point’s mobile security portfolio by adding Advanced Mobile Application Threat Emulation, behavioral risk analysis and real-time anomaly detection capabilities.

Lacoon provides security solution for iOS and Android. It also offers real-time mobile security and intelligence to an organization’s existing security and mobility infrastructures. Their technology detects device, application and in-network threats that others may have missed and quantifies the risks and vulnerabilities that BYOD exposes to the enterprise.

The addition of Lacoon would allow us to provide our customers the most complete mobile security solution on the market,” said Gil Shwed, CEO and chairman of Check Point Software Technologies.

Lacoon, founded in 2011, has R&D operations in Tel Aviv, Israel and sales team in San Francisco, CA. Check Point will integrate the Lacoon founders and team into its operations.
