Blue Coat Systems announced its deal to acquire Perspecsys, a provider of enterprise cloud data protection solutions.
The acquisition will support Blue Coat to expand its cloud security offerings while enhancing its hybrid cloud services. New offerings will help Blue Coat to become a leader in the Cloud Access Security Broker (CASB) segment.
This apart, the acquisition enables Blue Coat to offer a range of CASB capabilities within its Secure Web Gateway portfolio. Perspecsys and Blue Coat deliver solution for protecting data in an era of user-led cloud application consumption, enhancing security for cloud applications and services.
Greg Clark, Blue Coat CEO, said: “Given that more than 50 percent of our customers are based overseas, and as we look to expand our vision for cloud protection, we are paying close attention to the needs of multinationals that reside or are doing business in geographies with strict compliance and data sovereignty requirements.”
