Bharat Electronics to use RTI Connext DDS for naval fleet

Real-Time Innovations (RTI), a provider of Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) platform, has inked a deal with Bharat Electronics to supply Connext DDS as the networking backbone of their Combat Management System to support Indian government’s naval fleet.

Use of the Data Distribution Service (DDS) standard is expected to meet the reliability requirements of its real-time systems.

The India government-owned Bharat Electronics will use the technology to automate technical data handling from the ship’s sensors and to provide a decision support system for command. The Indian Navy previously relied on the DDS standard to support their other indigenous programs.

BEL is considering Command Control Management under C4I Systems for future plans of the ministry of defense.

“RTI has provided the benefits of DDS to defense systems across the globe with proven experience in meeting the stringent reliability requirements in a mission critical system,” said Stan Schneider, CEO of RTI.
