Belden to acquire cybersecurity vendor Tripwire for $710 million

Belden, a supplier of signal transmission solutions for mission-critical applications, has acquired Tripwire, a provider of advanced threat and security solutions, for $710 million.

The cash transaction will enable the companies to deliver advanced cybersecurity solutions to enterprise, industrial, and broadcast markets.

Belden CEO John Stroup

“As a leading supplier of signal transmission solutions for mission-critical networking applications, this acquisition is an important and natural extension of Belden’s capabilities,” said John Stroup, president and CEO of Belden.

In September, Belden and Tripwire announced an initiative to improve infrastructure cybersecurity in manufacturing organizations. The partnership provided comprehensive cybersecurity solutions tailored to specific customer requirements.

Belden will be incorporating Tripwire technology into selected Belden products and provide Tripwire with access to existing Belden customers.
