Bed Bath & Beyond reveals it faced cyber attack

Bed Bath & Beyond Inc revealed it faced a cyber attack. It confirmed that a third party had accessed its data through a phishing scam by accessing the hard drive and certain shared drives of one of its employees.

Bed Bath & Beyond did not reveal additional details about the cyber security incident. Bed Bath & Beyond does not reveal the name of its cyber security partner.

The retailer said it was reviewing the data that was accessed so it can determine whether the drives contained any sensitive or personally identifiable information.

The home goods retailer said it has no reason to believe that any sensitive or personally identifiable information was accessed and this cybersecurity incident would likely not have a material impact on the company.

The company operates websites at bedbathandbeyond.com, bedbathandbeyond.ca, buybuybaby.com, buybuybaby.ca, harmondiscount.com, and facevalues.com.

As of May 28, 2022, the company had 955 stores, including 769 Bed Bath & Beyond stores in all 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and Canada. Bed Bath & Beyond has achieved sales of $1.44 billion in Q2 2022.
