Infotech Lead Asia: Symantec has come up with the successor of its Norton 360 product called Norton 360 Premier. It has all the benefits of Norton 360 plus some special features like Identity Protection, 25GB free online backup and much more. Here is a look at the product:
Performance:
We installed the product on a computer running Windows 7 Premier OS and it got installed without any problem. The installation instructions on the screen were easy to understand. One thing we really liked and which was missing in previous Norton products is that the installation instructions’ fonts are much bigger which makes it more readable, especially for those with problems of vision.
Norton 360 Premier provides a complete and robust security to the PC. It has a two-way configurable firewall which makes it even stronger against potential malware access. It provides file sharing protection which is very helpful when we want to keep our social media and chat conversations safe.
Premier Features:
As discussed before, this product has many special features apart from the basic features available in Norton 360. It provides 25GB of free online backup. Users can save enough data in this online space without worrying about system crash. It can also perform backup on other locations like external hard disks. There is another feature called Password Manager. It helps you save the complex password and enters it automatically on the website when required. With the help of Diagnostic Report feature, users can keep a tab on security, Operating System, startups, installed programs, hardware, network, restore points, running processes. It will give the clear picture of correct resource utilization and according to that users can make changes on the computer to improve system performance.
There is another feature called Identity Protection. With the help of this feature, user can decide what content should be shared online. User can create a list of files that should not be shared to protect the privacy.

Parental Control feature offers lots of flexibility to the user. You can change the settings of parental control from mobiles, iPad or Android phones. Users can also change the settings from the web browser. Users can select different set of Parental control for different users on the same PC.
Norton 360 Premier provides a feature with which we can rate the installed softwares on the PC with all the details like when and how much it was used and what is the trust rating of the application. It also says how much resources each software/application was using. According to the trust rating the System Scan can exclude the trusted applications and scan remaining ones to improve the scan time and resources utilization. There is an interesting feature called Startup Manager. It allows us to select which application should be included in startups and which ones should launch later.

Apart from the above support functions, Norton also provides User Guide, FAQ & Virtual Assistant. Virtual Assistant is more like an interactive User Guide. We tried to take help from it & it was a good experience. It could find most of the answers asked, when it could not find any answers, it directed us to direct support discussed above.

Norton 360 Premier is indeed a step ahead in terms of giving a complete PC and Internet security to the users. With its unique features like remote Parental Control, File Sharing protection and Identity Protection, it’s one of the best Security Products in the market. The software comes with multi-device options (3 devices or 5 devices-including PCs, tablets and smartphones) which makes it even cost efficient.
