SurveyMonkey hires HP veteran Bill Veghte as CEO

SurveyMonkey has hired HP veteran Bill Veghte as the chief executive officer.

Bill Veghte will replace Dave Goldberg, the former CEO of SurveyMonkey, who lost his life recently.

The HP executive left the enterprise networking business ahead of the formal split into two.

Veghte has spent 20 years at Microsoft spanning Microsoft Office, Windows, and Server and then most recently at HP where he had been the COO and currently leads its Enterprise Group.

SurveyMonkey is the market leader in online surveys with over 25 million customers. In April 2015, it launched SurveyMonkey Benchmarks, a data offering that organizations can use to understand how their performance stacks up to peers, competitors and companies of similar size.

SurveyMonkey investors include Tiger Global Management, T. Rowe Price, Morgan Stanley Asset Management, Baillie Gifford, Spectrum Equity, Google Capital, and Social + Capital.

In December last year, SurveyMonkey said it raised $250 million in equity financing from new and existing investors.  The company will use the funds to bolster the company’s ability to pursue future M&A transactions, as well as to provide an opportunity for existing investors and employees to sell some of their equity.
