Sierra Wireless has been ranked No.1 in M2M cellular modules for the fourth consecutive year, according to ABI Research.
Sierra Wireless has also maintained the highest average revenue per module.
According to the research agency, SIMCom Wireless has leaped to the number two position in global shipments in 2014.
The market data package provides both revenue and shipment estimates by vendor for 2014 as well as market share history back to 2003.
“All module vendors understand that they need a portfolio that includes not only 3G but also a suite of 4G modules if they expect to maintain margins and stay profitable,” said Dan Shey, Practice Director, ABI Reseach.
Last year in December, Sierra Wireless acquired Wireless Maingate, a Sweden-based provider of machine-to-machine (M2M) connectivity and data management services, for $90 million.
