Seagate Technology today announced the appointment of Cisco veteran Sri Hosakote as executive vice president of Systems for the Cloud Systems and Solutions (CSS) group.
Hosakote will be reporting to Seagate President Jamie Lerner.
Hosakote will look after the creation and delivery of High Performance Computing (HPC) solutions and custom, modularized systems for OEMs with a focus on converged infrastructure and the management of the former Xyratex business, including managing the engineering team.
At Cisco, Hosakote spent the last 19 years and his most recent role was as senior vice president and general manager of Cisco’s switching and wireless platform group.
Prior to joining Cisco, Hosakote was a founding member of a Bangalore start-up, later joining Sprint Communications, and then Retix as a software engineer.
