Pricol, an auto component manufacturer, has deployed Microsoft Office 365 to secure its IP and data.
“Each time we share our submissions with a customer, Office 365 ensures only authorized people are able to access the files. Earlier our product designs carried a risk of falling into our competitor’s hands,” said Pravin Kumar Sadavisam, group chief information technology officer, Pricol.
Microsoft India in a statement said that Office 365 has assisted Pricol to streamline its policies for access rights to sensitive information. Pricol is benefitting from Office 365 deployment because it ensures access only to authorized users and customers to the design and specifications of products under development — creating a secure R&D environment.
Office 365’s collaboration services via Lync are assisting Pricol employees and customers to connect across countries, resulting into significant savings in time, travel and cost.
Pricol is also promoting the use of Yammer, the social collaboration tool from Microsoft, within the organization for employees across group companies to leverage talent and resources. Yammer helped the company find employees with niche skills, share knowledge for assignments like foreign language translation and engineering scenarios.
