Wipro veteran Anand Sankaran, who has got more than 25-years experience in the Indian and international IT markets, will join Dell India.
As president and global head of Dell Services’ Infrastructure and Cloud Computing line of business, he will report to Suresh Vaswani, president of Dell Services.
Sankaran will lead a global team of nearly 10,000 employees responsible for driving infrastructure consulting and delivery, managed services and services related to the company’s Cloud offerings, said Dell on Thursday.
As part of a major restructuring, he resigned from Wipro as senior vice president of Wipro’s Global Infrastructure Services business as well as head of Wipro Infotech, its India and Middle East business.
In the next three years, it is estimated that 70 percent of CXOs will expect a significant or complete IT overhaul in their organizations. Anand’s impressive strategic expertise and operational excellence in infrastructure services are a great fit for Dell as we continue to drive our global services business in support of these CXO challenges.
Anand will help Dell execute its strategy and rapidly build upon the strength of its Infrastructure and Cloud Computing capabilities. These capabilities will help the company continue differentiating Dell and are some of our most strategic investment areas.
Sankaran, who will be based in Bangalore, succeeds Kevin Jones, who moved into the recently created chief customer and sales officer role within Dell Services.
