WatchGuard appoints Alex Thurber as VP of sales

Infotech Lead India: WatchGuard Technologies has appointed Alex Thurber as vice president of sales for the Americas and EMEA regions.

Thurber will lead teams across the United States, Canada, Europe and Latin America for the company, which recently reported its highest quarterly billings in history.

Most recently, Thurber served as vice president of worldwide sales at Tripwire, where he was instrumental in building and managing both channel and corporate sales organizations and initiatives.

Prior to Tripwire, he was senior vice president of worldwide channels at McAfee, responsible for all aspects of commercial and SMB channel sales.

Thurber also gained extensive experience at Cisco, fulfilling roles as the managing director in Japan as well as senior director of channels, where he developed and led go-to-market channel strategies.

“As a company with 100 percent channel distribution, our channel partners are core to our success,” said Joe Wang, CEO of WatchGuard.
