VMware veteran Rick Jackson has joined Rackspace Hosting as the chief marketing officer (CMO).
Jackson will lead Rackspace’s global marketing strategy and execution as the company works to strengthen its leadership position around hybrid cloud.
At VMware, Jackson served as CMO and responsible for leading the company’s marketing strategy since early 2009.
Prior to joining VMware, Jackson has held chief marketing roles at Borland Software and San Jose-based BEA Systems.
Jackson brings a valuable combination of SMB and enterprise marketing skills to Rackspace including his extensive knowledge of cloud computing, infrastructure software, application middleware and developer frameworks.
