VMware appoints Ray O’Farrell as CTO

VMware CTO Ray O’Farrell
Cloud infrastructure and mobility vendor VMware has appointment of Ray O’Farrell as chief technology officer and chief development officer — responsible for orchestration across all of R&D business units and will lead VMware’s CTO team.

O’Farrell will replace Ben Fathi who left VMware after serving the cloud vendor as chief technology officer from 2014-2015.

Most recently, O’Farrell served as GM, Software-Defined Data Center Division. O’Farrell joined the VMware team in 2003 to build the storage technologies of VMware ESX (later VMware vSphere). He led development teams across the entire VMware global R&D footprint and product portfolio.
