How Vidyo is transforming Bloomberg

Vidyo selected by BloombergVideo conferencing major Vidyo is set to transform financial news wire agency Bloomberg with better communication tools for effective engagement.

Vidyo announced its deal with Bloomberg to provide the enabling technology for the Nexi communications platform to visually connect Bloomberg employees.

Bloomberg’s 17,000 employees will collaborate internally and externally with a single click leveraging the VidyoWorks platform and APIs.

The VidyoWorks platform allowed Bloomberg to create a customized solution that integrates into Bloomberg’s existing email and calendar system, complies with Bloomberg security standards and delivers resilient video communications experience across devices and networks.

In the first month of deployment of Nexi, Bloomberg’s highly active user base logged more than 6 million Vidyo conferencing minutes in nearly 200,000 conferences with three or more participants per conference.

“Every day we focus on bringing the best technologies to Bloomberg and collaboration is critical to our business. Vidyo’s technology made it a clear choice to power the Nexi platform,” said Nicole Comello, global head of Information Systems, Bloomberg.

Nexi relies on Vidyo’s software-based platform to deliver a hybrid solution leveraging virtual and physical infrastructure.

Robert Mason and Whit Andrews said in Gartner’s IT Market Clock for Enterprise Video, 2015 that the enterprise video market is dynamic and characterized by several broad transitions. Most notable is the shift from specialized video appliances and dedicated networks to software-based endpoints and infrastructure.
