Video technology company Vidyo has assisted Royal Bank of Canada to offer remote video chat as a free service to its small business customers across North America.
RBC’s video chat service will let small businesses converse face-to-face with their banker, on virtually any device. RBC is the first bank in Canada to offer remote video banking as a valuable free service to customers.
Royal Bank of Canada has more than 16 million personal, business, public sector and institutional clients throughout Canada, the U.S. and 36 other countries. Video chat will help RBC re-create the in-person, local bank branch experience from wherever customers are.
RBC has deployed its video banking service earlier this month for its small business clients, and plans to expand video chat to other parts of the business in 2017.
“We understand that our customers want to build and maintain a personal, long-term relationship with their banker based on trust, especially as they approach important financial decisions that can affect their business both in the short term and in the future,” said Cathy Honor, senior vice president, Contact Centers at RBC.
Royal Bank of Canada is benefitting from video chat which is crystal-clear, realistic and immersive even over low bandwidth connections and variable Wi-Fi connections.
A content sharing feature will allow small businesses to share charts, graphs, spreadsheets and other critical documents with their banker in real time from right within the video call.
“Now is the time to better connect the world by video-enabling any application on virtually any device, with visually-stunning video chat becoming the most sustainable, most inclusive and most productive way to communicate,” said Eran Westman, CEO of Vidyo.
