United States Department of Defense (DoD) Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) and cloud networking provider GTT Communications reached in a $4.3 billion global network services contract.
The multibillion-dollar GNS contract consists of a five-year base with five one-year options. It consolidates existing bandwidth contracts and services to support the global telecommunications and transport requirements of the current and future Defense Information Systems Network (DISN) and Department of Defense Information Network (DoDIN).
Services in the contract include IP and Ethernet services, Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing, SONET and SDH, and managed services.
“GTT is honored to have been selected to participate in this network contract,” stated Rick Calder, GTT president and CEO.
“We believe our top five global IP backbone, comprehensive portfolio of Ethernet, IP and managed services, and commitment to delivering a superior client experience make GTT uniquely qualified to expand our significant relationship with the Department of Defense as a key provider of transport services.”
GTT’s Tier 1 IP network includes over 250 points-of-presence worldwide. The company’s EtherCloud portfolio includes Layer 2 and Layer 3 VPN services available in multiple configurations with built-in redundancy to ensure the highest level of performance.
