Infotech Lead Brazil: Avaya Brazil President Campelo Nelson said UC is one of the growing areas for Avaya in Brazil.
Avaya estimates that the total market for UC in Brazil is around $350 million, achieving growth of about 12 percent per year.
“Aligned to this is the large number of SMEs in Brazil – the second SEBRAE are more than 6.1 million. These companies invest in technology and always looking for simple and complete solutions, which enable their operation without requiring a large investment in infrastructure, said Avaya Brazil President Campelo Nelson.
According to a Frost & Sullivan survey commissioned by Avaya, although there is a certain ignorance about the benefits of adopting several solutions that unify collaboration tools, companies are already using these solutions, proved that these solutions have improved and accelerated internal processes by reducing their costs.
Meanwhile, Avaya is planning to expand its SME operations by 2015. The UC business is expected to contribute 20 percent of the revenue in Brazil.
50 percent of respondents have plans to invest at least $ 10,000 in one or more offers this profile next year and that 25 percent of corporations that do not have IP telephony (62 percent overall) plan to migrate between 2012 and 2013.
59 percent prefer SaaS (software as a service) contracts.
The global UC market is expected to be more than $16 billion by 2015.
