TP-LINK Canada announced the TP-LINK RE200 AC750 Universal Dual Band Wi-Fi Range Extender that can extend the coverage and improve the signal strength of an existing wireless network.
The power wall-mountable Universal range extender, which is compatible with 802.11 b/g/n and 802.11ac devices, can work with any Wi-Fi router.
The new product will be available in the fourth quarter of 2014.

TP-LINK Canada said users can now expand the total range of their 11ac networks and enjoy 802.11ac speeds of up to 750Mbps. The TP-LINK RE200 offers simultaneous throughput of up to 300Mbps for 2.4GHz networks and an additional 433Mbps wireless transfer rate at 5GHz.
The new range extender includes advanced 64/128/152-bit WEP, WPA-PSK/ WPA2-PSK encryptions to protect networks from potential security threats.
Users need to press the WPS button on the main router and the Range Extender button on the RE200 to establish the network connection in two minutes. Login credentials are retained internally after initial setup, allowing users to relocate the device for optimal network coverage.
The company said the built-in Ethernet port allows the Range Extender to function as a dual-band wireless adapter to connect wired devices, including TVs, set-top boxes, game consoles, and Blu-ray players. The device can share the wireless network with mobile devices such as smartphones, laptops and tablets.
