Storage systems market revenue grew 19.4 percent to $14.0 billion during the third quarter of 2018, according to IDC.
Sales of server-based storage increased 10.1 percent to $3.8 billion, representing 27.3 percent of enterprise storage investments.
The external storage systems market grew 12.5 percent to roughly $6.3 billion.
Dell is the leader in storage market with 19.2 percent of enterprise storage systems market.
Dell achieved 21.8 percent growth.
HPE is the second largest storage supplier with 16.4 percent revenue share. HPE’s storage revenue dropped 3.3 percent.
NetApp has 5.8 percent share in the global storage market. NetApp’s storage revenue rose 15.3 percent.
Hitachi with 3 percent, Huawei with 3 percent, IBM with 2.9 percent, Lenovo with 2.6 percent and Inspur with 2.2 percent market share are the other leading storage suppliers in the third quarter of 2018.
ODM’s storage share by selling directly to hyperscale datacenters increased 45.8 percent to $3.9 billion, representing 27.7 percent of enterprise storage investments.
Dell is the largest external enterprise storage supplier, grabbing 31.3 percent of worldwide revenues. NetApp with 12.8 percent, HPE with 10.4 percent, Hitachi with 6.4 percent and IBM with 6.2 percent market share are the other leading suppliers in the global external enterprise storage market.
