Dominik Tünnerhoff, the head of IT systems and support at Swisslog GmbH, emphasized the critical need for a cutting-edge platform. “We sought a solution that elevates our IT managed services with cloud-level efficiency and automation. However, our commitment to data privacy and sovereignty led us away from public cloud options,” he stated.
HPE GreenLake for Private Cloud Enterprise promises Swisslog an automated, adaptable, and entirely managed cloud experience. This platform offers diverse options for automated management, granting seamless access to private cloud resources, thus eradicating laborious manual processes. For instance, Swisslog’s IT systems and support team will now swiftly provision virtual-machine-based applications for specific customer projects within minutes, ensuring agile operations.
Importantly, this private cloud solution will be wholly managed by HPE within Swisslog’s Dortmund data center. Its pay-per-use pricing model aligns operational expenses with evolving business needs, eliminating the need for significant upfront capital expenditure. This subscription model, based on metered usage of virtual CPU, virtual RAM, and storage, will allow Swisslog to precisely track and allocate private cloud costs per customer project.
