St. James School deploys Verint Video Management Software solution

St. James School, Stratford, Conn., has deployed the Verint Video Management Software (VMS) solution to protect students and staff – as part of its surveillance solutions.

“After recent tragedies throughout the education community, we began to investigate surveillance solutions more seriously, recognizing the need to make our campus more secure and safe,” said James Gieryng, principal, St. James School.

In December 2013, the school replaced its previous camera solution that monitored the front entrance with new video surveillance cameras inside the building, as well as outside to cover key areas, including entrances, the gymnasium, cafeteria, parking lot and playground.

Each of the cameras is integrated with Verint Video Management Software.

The new Verint solution enables St. James School to monitor live and recorded video from desktops and two large monitors in the main office. The solution also helps streamline video security operations and helps users analyze video and security data.

Verint in a statement said it offers policy-based video distribution, networked video viewing and investigation management to help staff detect, act on and investigate security breaches and other potential threats. In addition, an intuitive user interface minimizes training requirements and streamlines system management.
