The latest IDC report has revealed the global server market share of Dell Technologies, HPE, Inspur, Lenovo and Huawei in the third quarter of 2020.
Dell Technologies has 16.65 percent share in global server business during the third quarter of 2020 as against 17.12 percent during the third quarter of 2019.
HPE’s server market share was 15.94 percent during the third quarter of 2020 as against 16.93 percent during the third quarter of 2019.
Inspur Power Systems has 9.37 percent server market share during the third quarter of 2020 as against 8.94 percent during the third quarter of 2019.
Lenovo’s server market share was 5.88 percent during the third quarter of 2020 as against 5.39 percent during the third quarter of 2019.
Huawei’s server market share was 4.87 percent during the third quarter of 2020 as against 4.15 percent during the third quarter of 2019.
IDC Quarterly Server Tracker indicated vendor revenue in the server market grew 2.2 percent to $22.6 billion during the third quarter of 2020. Server shipments declined 0.2 percent to nearly 3.1 million units in 3Q20.
Volume server revenue was up 5.8 percent to $19.0 billion, while midrange server revenue declined 13.9 percent to $2.6 billion, and high-end servers declined by 12.6 percent to $937 million.
Revenues for servers running AMD CPUs were up 112.4 percent.
ARM-based servers grew revenues 430.5 percent.
“Global demand for enterprise servers was a bit muted during the third quarter of 2020 although we did see areas of strong demand,” said Paul Maguranis, senior research analyst, Infrastructure Platforms and Technologies at IDC.
