Sebi shortlists HPE, IBM, Sify, Airtel, others to revamp IT network

Indian stock markets regulator Sebi has shortlisted eight technology companies including Bharti Airtel, Wipro and Tata Communications to revamp its IT infrastructure network and communication systems, PTI reports.

The other shortlisted companies are — Hewlett Packard Enterprise, IBM, NTT India, Orange Business Services and Sify Technologies.

Anand R. Baiwar is the executive director of Information Technology Department (ITD) at SEBI. Manojan Karayi is the chief information security officer (CISO) at SEBI.

The other members of the IT department include Avneesh Pandey, Manojan Karayi, Shri M S Balasubramaniam, Shri Jitendra Maurya, Mihir Kumar Sahoo, Mridusmita Goswami, Rakkammal Ravi, Amol D More and Shiva Kumar.

The Securities and Exchange Board of India (Sebi) is looking to refurbish its IT infrastructure network and communication systems, the report said. Besides, it is planning to have a centralised control over its network and IP (internet protocol) telephony infrastructure.

The regulator in July invited Expression of Interest (EoI) from technology solution providers to upgrade and revamp of IT network, IP telephony and video conferencing set-up.

These eight bidders have been shortlisted for further process, Sebi said in a notice. Sebi said the solution should be robust, secure, stable, efficient and easy to manage and should have latest collaborative features.
