Seagate names HP executive Bill Swales as SVP of Sales for Cloud Systems

Seagate Technology today said HP executive Bill Swales joined the company as senior vice president of Worldwide Sales for the Cloud Systems and Solutions group.

Bill Swales will be reporting to Seagate President Jamie Lerner.

Swales will work with its customers worldwide to leverage Seagate’s open approach to Intelligent Information Infrastructure for workloads.

Bill Swales will be responsible for strategy, functions, initiatives and activities that support and direct the selling of Seagate’s Cloud products and services.

He will take an active role in developing and implementing OEM and partner strategies, and in building new and strengthening existing alliance, system integrator and channel partnerships.

Swales formerly held leadership positions and sales roles at Hewlett-Packard, McData, IBM and EMC Corporation.
