SD-WAN deal: CMC Networks Selected to Upgrade Webber Wentzel’s Network Infrastructure

In a strategic move to bolster efficiency and heighten data security, Webber Wentzel, one of South Africa’s prominent law firms, has chosen CMC Networks, a service provider operating across 51 African countries, to upgrade its network infrastructure. CMC Networks crafted a network solution designed to significantly enhance data security and streamline operations for Webber Wentzel’s clientele.

Webber Wentzel is now benefiting from an ultra-secure Juniper Session Smart Router (SSR) SD-WAN, incorporating nodes at its Cape Town and Sandton offices to elevate customer experiences, alongside a virtual appliance in Microsoft Azure.

Furthermore, CMC Networks implemented a Juniper vSRX virtual firewall in Azure to ensure robust security for all Internet traffic moving across the network, employing a blend of Zero-Trust Security and L3-L7 application control functionality at various network waypoints.

Marisa Trisolino, CEO at CMC Networks, emphasized their understanding of the unique needs of the legal sector, delivering a solution that intertwines high-performance connectivity with uncompromising security and privacy. She stated, “Enterprises across Africa continue to choose CMC Networks because of our service, support, and ability to deliver solutions wherever our customers operate.”

The SD-WAN was executed using CMC Networks’ dual IP Premier Direct Internet Access (DIA) service, offering Webber Wentzel top-tier Service Level Agreements (SLA) with ultra-low latencies, ultimately enhancing customer experiences.

In addition to this, CMC Networks designed a comprehensive Juniper LAN and WiFi solution powered by Juniper’s Mist AI, featuring enterprise-grade ethernet switches and Wi-Fi 6 access points. This combination ensures optimal performance, security, and user experience for Webber Wentzel by providing unparalleled insights into the local LAN and WAN.

Warren Hero, Chief Information Officer at Webber Wentzel, underscored the firm’s commitment to ensuring the security, privacy, and confidentiality of customer data. He emphasized the ever-increasing importance of adapting and upgrading network infrastructure to combat the evolving threat landscape, highlighting the partnership with CMC Networks as a critical enabler in enhancing security and network efficiencies.

CMC Networks is additionally in the process of designing and implementing a new contact centre and back-office voice solution for Webber Wentzel, leveraging Microsoft Teams, cloud PBX, and SIP trunks. This solution is set to run over the upgraded network infrastructure, boasting superior Quality of Service (QoS) and application steering capabilities to ensure an optimized user experience.
